    • What is the Green PolkaDot Box?

      The Green PolkaDot Box is a membership organization intended to grow to become the largest, most influential "buying collective" in America. Why? So we can accomplish the following objectives:

      1. Eliminate the "organic deserts" that exist through rural and urban America allowing everyone access to "clean" organic foods. Our ability to ship to every zip code will make healthy food accessible to all.
      2. Make clean organic food available to all health-minded consumers at affordable prices. We accomplish this by expanding the marketplace and inviting new consumers to participate, thereby increasing distribution and sales opportunities for our vendor partners.
      3. Using a "grass roots" approach, in cooperation with our influential institutional partners, we intend to educate the public about the links between diet and disease, motivating them to seek out healthier, clean organic alternatives. We know that, through truthful education, we can influence the buying decisions of our family members, friends and neighbors. We can reverse the ravaging effects of chronic disease that are devastating our aging population and protect our children from the debilitating consequences of processed and genetically modified foods.
    • What is a Buying Collective?

      When we say that we will become the most influential "buying collective", we're referring to building massive bargaining power. This is essential because without the purchasing might of millions of like-minded consumers we won't be able to influence food producers, growers or manufacturers to change how they currently operate. Until we can unite together in collective bargaining power with one voice to insist that our foods are clean and safe we will be forced to rely on the status quo—the good will of agribusiness, government regulatory agencies, higher education systems, and the medical establishment—to make changes. With this process, things would NEVER change!

    • What is a "clean" food?

      "Clean food" means certified organic foods of all varieties that are 3rd party-verified to be free of GMOs. We want to protect all consumers by insuring that food production in America is designed to exclude derivates from GMO food crops and from dairy products injected with genetically modified growth hormones. In addition, we want to exclude meat from animals fed from GMO feed. As far as meats and fish are concerned, we will only accept certified organic animal proteins or 100 percent wild caught or grass fed animals. That is our definition of clean food.

      We will never knowingly offer products that contain GMO. We will inform you, however, if manufacturers' and producers' products we carry are "self-claimed" GMO free and are working towards third party verification; ideally, in qualification with the NON-GMO PROJECT. We endeavor to work with all manufacturers and growers that produce certified organic foods. At first, we will allow self-verification of NON-GMO products, but, as we grow in membership and consumer clout we will insist on third party verification.

      Our objective pertaining to clean organic food is intended to protect not only consumers but also food providers. If we can help insure that providers produce clean food we will protect the labors and dollars they have invested to become "organic." After all, organic is only good if it is GMO Free. We want organic to mean something.

    • Does your service extend to Canada?

      Unfortunately, we are currently only shipping within the United States. We have received widespread interest, however, from viewers in Canada and it is possible that sometime in the future we will expand outside of the U.S. We hope you will stay connected so that we can update you when this option becomes available.

    • Do you accept food stamps or EBT cards?

      We do not qualify for food stamps or EBT cards. Our executive team is in the process of determining whether or not we will be able to accept food stamps as payment in the future, and we will notify our members of any new developments.

    • Are you a MLM Company?

      No, we are not an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) Company. Although people often think we are due to the rewards system we offer to our members, there are a few key differences:

      1. It is not a requirement that one refers others in order to become a member of the Green PolkaDot Box. Anyone may participate in both the Shop and Learn sections of our site without ever referring a single person!
      2. We do not require those members who do opt to participate in the Rewards Program to reach a certain minimum order to receive reward points. A rewards member could continue to receive points without ever purchasing a single product from the Green PolkaDot Box.
      3. A Rewards Member may only receive reward points for the individuals they have directly referred. There is no multi-level aspect to our system.

      When all is said and done there are few similarities between our rewards system and an MLM company, and although we offer incentives for sharing the Green PolkaDot Box with friends and family, we are the most excited to have our members benefit from the great products and prices available on our site.

    • Are you a non-profit organization?

      No, we are not a non-profit organization. The Green PolkaDot Box is a Incorporated Company based in Utah.

    • What is your Return policy on products?

      We evaluate and deal with Member situations and requests for product returns on a case-by-case basis. As a general policy the Company is committed to provide such a high level of service that Member complaints are not necessary. In the rare case when a Member is dissatisfied with The Green PolkaDot Box for any reason, the Company will do everything reasonably possible to satisfy and retain the trust of that Member. Members are encouraged to immediately contact the Member Services department via the Website to discuss any problems that may arise. Product refunds to Members are in the form of PolkaDot Reward Points for product dissatisfaction, however a Member and/or recipient of an order must confirm that the product received matches the product listed on the shipping invoice and is free of damage. Failure to notify the Company of any shipping discrepancy or damage within seven calendar days of receipt of shipment will cancel a Member's right to request a correction.

    • What about the Carbon footprint with shipping?

      A Carnegie Mellon study found that online shopping is 35% less environmentally harmful compared to the traditional local retail model. Amazon calculates that they use 1/16 of the energy compared to other companies to get the same product to the consumer. A significant portion of the product's carbon footprint is caused by the consumer driving to the local retail store to pick it up. This is called the "last mile", the last leg of the journey. Having one large truck on the road with several deliveries in the same area is less environmentally harmful then hundreds of cars driving a half an hour (or more!) round trip to their local co-op or health food store. Plus, if you choose all organic food, that lowers your carbon footprint significantly!

    Membership Questions

    • What is a Reward Membership?

      A Reward Membership costs $125 per year.

      Rewards Members receive unlimited shopping privileges at up to 60% off retail prices and free access to the LEARN section (coming in 2012), an online publication of current information related to dietary lifestyle preferences that includes expert commentary, recipes, scientific discoveries and documented research. Rewards Members may refer others to join The Green PolkaDot Box, and receive up to 5% Personal Purchase Discounts (PPD) and 10% PolkaDot Rewards (PDR) on the purchases of members they refer.

      Rewards Members may refer an unlimited number of Club and Rewards Members and earn PolkaDot Rewards on all purchases for the lifetime of their memberships and may choose to allocate all or a portion of their available PDR to offset or pay for any purchases at the time of check out.

      Personal Purchase Discounts (PPD) are issued at the time of check out. The Rewards Member's PPD is a percentage of the PolkaDot Value (PDV) of his/her order and is applied as a discount off the sub-total of the Member Price of all goods in the shopping cart at the time of check out.

    • What are PolkaDot Rewards (PDR)?

      PolkaDot Rewards are defined as a percentage of the PolkaDot Value (PDV) of each product sold. For example, a product may sell to Referred Members at the Member price of $10.00 but the (PDV) may only be $8.50. So, in this example, the PolkaDot Reward would be a percentage of the $8.50. 10% of $8.50 = 0.85¢ or .85 PDR points (1 PDR Point = $1 U.S.) which would be credited to the Rewards Member's account after the purchase is completed.

      All PolkaDot Rewards earned are deposited into the Rewards Member's account and may be used to pay for products purchased at the time of check out. Rewards Members may choose to allocate all or a portion of their available PDR to offset or pay for any purchases at the time of check out.

      In the event that PolkaDot Rewards accumulate in the Rewards Member's Account up to 1,000 points The Green PolkaDot Box will sweep the account of 800 Points ($800.00 value) and deposit it into the Rewards Member's PayPal Account, leaving a balance of 200 points for future shopping. (Rewards Members must have a PayPal account if they wish to receive Surplus PolkaDot Rewards.) Surplus PolkaDot Reward distributions are recorded in the Rewards Member's Account Dashboard.

      Rewards Members may refer others to join The Green PolkaDot Box, and receive up to 10% PolkaDot Rewards (PDR) on the purchases of members they refer.

    • What is the PolkaDot Value (PDV)?

      "PolkaDot Value" means the unique numerical value assigned to each separate product or service offered by the Company to Members. The PolkaDot Value typically will be less than the Member Price and will be calculated by the Company based on the actual costs to the Company of the products and services offered by the Company. The PolkaDot Value is determined solely by the Company; it may be applied to or removed from specific products from time to time as circumstances may warrant in the sole discretion of the Company

      You may register for a one-year Club membership now by paying $50, and upgrade to a Rewards Membership anytime by paying a $75 upgrade charge. Once you upgrade to a Rewards Membership you will begin to earn PolkaDot Rewards on the purchases of Referred Members, along with Personal Purchase Discounts.

    • What membership options are available?

      A Rewards Membership is $125 a year. It has same benefits as the club membership, but in addition to those you can earn up to 5% Personal Purchase Discount (PPD) and 10% PolkaDot Rewards. The PPD and rewards points you receive depend on the number of people you refer, and can be used to buy products or saved up to receive cash rewards.

      A Club Membership is $50 a year. It allows unlimited shopping and learning privileges. You can save up to 60% on the foods you buy, and get truthful information about your unique dietary lifestyle through our "Learn" section that will be unveiled later this year.

      Also, the Club membership can be updated to the Rewards Membership at any time by opting to change your membership type and paying the difference of $75. These are both incredible offers, and we hope to have you join us at the Green PolkaDot Box.

    • Do my "Reward Points" ever expire?

      As far as the reward points go, they never expire. However, after you have accumulated 1000 points, 800 of those points ($800) will be deposited directly into your Paypal account. We hope that our members will take advantage of the great benefits available by referring friends and family.

    • Will my membership be renewed automatically every year?

      Upon joining and paying for a membership, we will set up accounts to automatically be renewed each year unless the Member manages his/her membership through their My Account in the "My Membershp Information" link and within the "Billing Information" section.

    Product Questions

    • Will you be carrying organic dairy products?

      We do have plans to carry dairy products, and our commitment to offering the healthiest and the best means that all the items on our site will be quality organic dairy. Eggs are the only item that we will not offer, due to the difficulty of shipping, but the rest you can expect to see on the site towards the end of our first year of operation.

    • Will you be carrying organic meat products?

      We do plan to carry organic meat products that will be available for order on the site, and we are working to ensure that all of these items will maintain the high standard of quality that we are committed to. Although organic meats are not available now, you can expect to see these types of items towards the end of our first year of operation. We hope that you will stay connected with the Green PolkaDot Box so that we can keep you updated on our progress!

    • Are your Products GMO Free?

      We are happy to inform our members that we are committed to carrying only GMO-free products on our site, and for this reason we do not have a specific "Non-GMO" dietary badge. However, we have designed various dietary badges for products that are in a transitory stage towards Non-GMO certification, compared to products that are "self-claimed" GMO-free products. We want to provide our members with all the information they need to be confident that they are purchasing the healthiest and safest products on the market, free of GMOs and other harmful ingredients. We plan to carry the largest variety of organic, non-GMO foods at discounted prices at the Green PolkaDot Box!

    • Is everything on the website organic?

      Not all of our products are certified organic. For this reason we have created labels (the small circle icons with different symbols inside) for each product. Each attribute (whether it is organic, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, etc.) is represented by an icon, and by placing the cursor over any of the symbols you can view a description of that attribute. After searching for a specific item you can click on "Dietary Needs" at the top of the page and modify your search by selecting the characteristics that are important to you. In this way we hope to be able to accommodate all of our members and their various dietary lifestyles!

    • Do you carry fresh produce?

      The Green PolkaDot Box currently offeres fresh produce to the Western U.S. and is making final preparations to launch a fresh-harvested, organic produce program for its Members who wish to participate throughout the county. This program is called Harvested Fresh. You may view our produce selection in the Organic Produce section of the webistie. In addition, you will see the gradual appearance of Farm Brand pages to give you an insider's look at the background and sustainable farming practices of the Farms and Farmers from whom we will be buying our fresh-harvested produce, directly.

      The Harvest Fresh Program includes, fresh-harvested organic produce deliveries, including all popular and many exotic varieties of fresh organic fruits and vegetables, originating in the farm belts of America beginning in the western United States, then moving across central and southern states; until every geographic area in which members reside can be serviced with "locally grown" produce within 24 to 72 hours from the moment it is picked. It will take several months AFTER we launch to be able to span the entire country and provide this wonderful program. We understand the importance of Harvested Fresh and how much it will benefit our members' lives. Accordingly, we will work with great urgency to make Harvested Fresh available to all members as quickly as possible. The Green PolkaDot Box Management has sourcing for many produce varieties already in place—within long established, responsible growers—for delivery to most of the western United States: from California to the Rockies. Plans are underway to establish similar relationships with many other organic growers so that members across the entire country will benefit from this program. We anticipate that all members—wherever they reside—will be able to opt in to our Harvested Fresh program within the first six months of operations. Premium fresh harvested fruits and vegetables will be delivered in season at optimal harvest time to insure peak flavor and freshness. The Green PolkaDot Box is making arrangements to work closely with each grower to make sure that our members are, literally, getting the "cream of the crop" harvested at peak times when maximum flavor and freshness is assured. We intend to notify our members by email, twitter, facebook and text as to the time and variety of produce being harvested so they do not miss out on the opportunity to participate in each harvest.

      Harvested Fresh contemplates that each farmer in the Green PolkaDot Box grower network will have a brand page at www.greenpolkadotbox and that members who have opted in to take advantage of the Program will be able to identify each farmer's harvest schedule, then order in advance to participate, as if having their own garden. There is NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE or fee for this service. Members will be able to anticipate the upcoming harvest dates, submit their orders in advance, and receive delivery via FED EX ground within 24 to 72 hours. All members who opt in will also receive real time email notifications of pending harvest dates for their favorite varieties from their preferred farmers.

      Freshly harvested produce—picked in early morning—will be delivered from participating local farms to a centralized processing/packaging facility for cooling, sorting, picking and packing within just hours from the moment of harvest. Whenever possible, orders will be shipped same day in environmentally friendly packaging that is designed to protect your order while maintaining optimal refrigeration temperatures for up to 72 hours. Produce offered to members through Harvested Fresh will be available at a savings of 40% to 75% off retail store pricing, including free shipping with lower minimum purchase requirements, in most cases. Members will be able to do the next best thing to hand picking their harvest by selecting produce in assortments or in bulk for delivery—on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis—for canning, drying and special events; or for delivery on demand. Members who happen to be restaurant owners or caterers will have a real advantage to order the superior quality produce directly from the farm in larger volume quantities and save 20% to 30% off wholesale pricing they are getting from their distributors. The Green PolkaDot has no current plans to order produce from farmers outside of the United States, but to do everything possible to support and promote responsible organic farmers who are local to our membership. Management plans to begin shipping produce to members in the western United States upon commencement of operations, and then to all other regions as soon as possible.

    • Will your produce be seasonal?

      Our produce will be made available to members on a seasonal basis. We will notify all of our members when the farmers are about to harvest and what is available to them. We'll then send the produce directly from the farms (after packaging of course) to your doorstep. The produce will reach your doorstep within 72 hours of being picked! We are working with organic farmers all over the country and we hope that eventually every member in every state will have access to fresh, seasonal produce year round!

    • Will you be adding more products in the future?

      We are constantly adding new brands, and we plan to carry many of the items that our members suggest in the future. We hope that we will eventually be able to accommodate all dietary lifestyle needs! We have a Request a Product page that allows our members to make product suggestions that will then be passed on to our board for review.     Shipping and Ordering Questions

    • How much do you charge for shipping?

      FREE Home Delivery is available for continental U.S. on all orders that are $99 or more (for any orders weighing more than 63 lbs. a $5.00 surcharge will be applied for each 63 lbs in weight). For all orders less than $99 a flat rate of $9.95 will be charged.

      We will ship all orders via FedEx Ground or OnTrac delivery services within 24 hours or less from the date on which we receive an order, except when orders are received on holidays or on weekends.

    • Do you ship internationally?

      Currently, the Green PolkaDot Box only allows persons residing in the United States of America or Puerto Rico to become Members and place orders. Therefore, we do not ship outside the U.S. or Puerto Rico right now.

    • Do you ship to Hawaii and Alaska?

      We do ship to Hawaii and Alaska via U.S. Postal Service (10 day delivery) or Fed Ex 2 day air. These orders will be billed at standard shipping rates (since they do not qualify for the free or flat rate shipping), but to compensate for this added expense the Green PolkaDot Box automatically discounts every order going to Hawaii and Alaska by 12% off PolkaDot Value (PDV). We hope that by doing so we can help our members in Hawaii and Alalska to benefit from the great products that we offer, while still maintaining a reasonable shipping cost.

    • What carriers do you use to ship?

      We are currently ship using FedEx and OnTrac delivery services (except to Hawaii & Alaska we offer U.S. Postal Service too), but it is possible that we may find other shipping options in the future.

    • Do I have to pay sales tax?

      Members who reside in Utah, a 3% sales tax will apply but otherwise there will be no sales tax.

    • When will you charge my credit card?

      Your credit card will be charged immediately following the checkout and purchase of your items.

    • Can I send my order to an APO/FPO/PO Box address?

      Currently, we do not have the option of shipping to APO/FPO/PO boxes, but we are hopeful that this will become a reality in the future. Stay tuned for updates.

    • How do I apply my points to my order?

      To apply points towards your order you need to make sure to go to your Shopping Cart before you go to the Checkout page. You can access your shopping cart by clicking on "My Cart" header at the top of the website. Once in your cart, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the box to input your points. Enter the point amount, click apply and head to checkout.

    • How can I track my order?

      Once a Member is logged into their "My Account Dashboard" page they may select the link "My Orders" on the far left side of the page. Here, the Member may view their recent orders and check the status of the order. In addition, once the order has left our warehouse the Member will receive an email notification that the order has shipped and provide the appropriate tracking number.

    • What happens if I am not home when my order arrives?

      Our delivery services will be delivering these products to your door, so your order will be waiting there for you when you arrive home.

    My Account Questions

    • How do I manage my account with the Green PolkaDot Box?

      Each Member is provided with access to manage their account at www.greenpolkadotbox.com which allows the Member to get an in-depth view of their Account Information, Managing Addresses, How to Refer a Friend, Order History and, of course, Rewards Points. Each Member may access the "My Account" section by clicking the "Log In" link in the top right of the website by entering their email address and the password that was created. The "My Account Dashboard" page gives a quick overview of the Member's account.

    • How do I change my email address and other account information?

      Once a Member is logged into their "My Account Dashboard" page they may select the link "My Membership Information" on the far left side of the page. Here, the Member may change their email address, name, date of birth (optional) or social security number (required for Rewards Members to cash out rewards points) and then save the changes.

    • How do I change my password?

      Once a Member is logged into their "My Account Dashboard" page they may select the link "My Membership Information" on the far left side of the page. Here, the Member may select the check box "Change Password" and fill out the necessary information for a password change and then save the changes.

    • How do I add or change shipping addresses?

      Once a Member is logged into their "My Account Dashboard" page they may select the link "My Address Book" on the far left side of the page. Here, the Member may add or change their Billing and Shipping Addresses, Set Specific Addresses as Default and Store Additional Addresses.

    • How do I refer others to the Green PolkaDot Box and get credit for it?

      Once a Member is logged into their "My Account Dashboard" page they may select the link "My Referrals" on the far left side of the page. Here, the Member may view their unique member referral link code (URL). This referral link is critical to give to your friends, family members and others when they visit the site for the first time. The website will capture the referring member's information and give them the appropriate credit for PolkaDot rewards points and other referring benefits. Additionally, on this page the Member can send GPDB Invitations with the unique member referral link code (URL) imbedded within.
